CQC Cleaning explained by CCL Cleaning Group
What is CQC Cleaning? CQC Stands for the Care Quality Commission and the purpose of the regulation in regards to cleaning is to make sure that any premises and equipment where care and treatment are delivered are cleaned to the required standards.
All healthcare settings have to comply with ‘Outcome 8 – Cleanliness and Infection Control’. All primary care and social care premises are regularly audited under the CQC Cleaning inspection model and provide reports, outcomes and improvement actions required to provide visibility into any failings of standards.
All Practices and Surgeries now have to be fully registered with the Care Quality Commission following the tightening of the regulations. It is essential for all practices to comply with the CQC’s ongoing monitoring system regarding cleanliness and infection control within their premises. When a Health Care Provider delegates cleaning responsibility through contracts to a third party, an independent supplier, supply chains or contractors they still retain legal responsibility for CQC regulations and must, therefore, ensure they meet the regulation and guidelines through that supplier. Any shortfalls in cleanliness rest with the Health Care Provider and there is a risk of closure if the guidelines are not being met.
CQC Medical Cleaning
In 2014 the Department of Health set out amendments to CQC’s registration requirements in order to introduce Fundamental Standards of Care and following this CCL developed comprehensive cleaning standard processes by working alongside a number of professionals and practice managers. This ensures our clients within the Healthcare and Medical sectors are fully compliant with CQC cleaning standards, so you are fully covered in the event of a CQC inspection.
